Sustainable, Environmental, Multidisciplinary, Bilingual Research and Action in RuralityA Mississippi and Florida research–practice project conducted in collaboration with the Starkville Oktibbeha School District and the University of Florida and the North Florida Research and Education Center. Funded by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Gulf Research Program, Early Career Fellowship, the project aims to develop environmental literacy among multilingual and all families in our community and to provide evidence that experiential education and community engagement can serve as transformative practices for promoting environmental literacy in rural and multilingual communities in Mississippi’s Gulf Coast region and the Florida Panhandle.
